World Youth Week 2020 Application Form

His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, is inviting 200 Coptic Youth, from all Coptic Dioceses outside of Egypt, to spend one week in Egypt together. The program will allow Coptic Youth from all over the world to experience a week of sharing, fellowship and service together. Youth will attend from England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Milano, Torino, Berlin, Frankfurt, Greece, Hungary, Melbourne, Sydney, Khartoum, Omdurman, Kenya, South Africa, Upper Egypt, Lower Egypt, Cairo, Alexandria, South America, Los Angeles, New York, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, San Francisco, Canada, Latin America, Jerusalem, the Gulf Region and Japan!

This is the second conference of it's kind with the first being held in 2018 to coincide with with the Golden Jubilee of the Coptic Orthodox Churches establishment outside Egypt.

The Diocese of Sydney and Affiliated Regions, is invited to send 6 youth to attend the International Week for Coptic Youth. There will be an equal number of male and female representatives.

This is a golden opportunity to connect with fellow Coptic Youth from all over the world.

Domestic transport, most meals and accommodation will be provided at Logos Centre, a new conference facility at the Papal Residence in Wadi El Natroun.

Eligibility Criteria:

1- Between 22-28 years of age

2- Fluent in English.

3- Able to speak and understand Arabic (as he/she will be serving some youth in villages).

4- Have a role or an active service in his/her own church.

5- Obtaining a letter of recommendation from Father of Confession.

6- Be willing to participate in tasks assigned throughout the week.

7- The candidate should have a cultured, cooperative personality with an exceptional contribution and vision.

8- Pay a symbolic entry fee of $300 USD or equivalent. This includes accomodation, visitation, internal transportation & conference material.

9- Purchasing of own airline ticket.

The official program will start on the Saturday 22 August 2020 and finish on the Saturday 29 August 2020. Arriving 2 days prior to the conference is advised to accomodate for jet-lag.

You can either apply to attend, or nominate a fellow youth member to attend by completing the application form.

Applications close Tuesday 31 December 2019 and will be processed by a blind panel of both clergy and laypersons, who will then notify the 6 youth who will be offered an official invitation to attend.
